Penn hails a new era as the AU Media door closes

Head of AU Media Chris Penn was delighted to announce today that work has begun on the site’s replacement, greenandwhitemedia.com.

With the AU dissolving this summer the future of the site was cast under doubt; however the former Waterfront Sports Editor was adamant that his team’s work was always going to continue no matter what.

“When you look at what we as a team have achieved, it’s hard to think otherwise,” he said.

“There have been fair few discussions and personally I am happy with the path we are now taking.”

AU Media was set up back in November of last year and has totalled over 30,000 hits in its first six months, but Penn is now geared towards making this new site even bigger.

“It [AU Media] has been a massive learning curve for me,” he admitted.

“To see how far the site and I have come along in the last few months just leaves me speechless, but that’s in the past now.

“In regards to greenandwhitemedia.com we are all very excited.

“We have the knowledge and links ready to hit the ground running come launch time.”

Penn refused to give too much away on what the new site will be like, but admitted that it needs to beacon of green and white pride.

“My Website Manager Oli Drake and I have had a fair few promising discussions in regards to appearance and content.

“We believe in something simple and very visual, and something the sports teams can be proud of.

“With all summer to build it there is plenty of time to make sure it is perfect.”

As well as changes to the site, Penn revealed there would be changes to the backroom, however he was full of praise for his team’s efforts the past few months.

“Everyone has played their part and it has been amazing.

“They share in my excitement and ambition to make greenandwhitemedia.com as big as it can be; it really does make me feel proud to work with them.

“Of course there will be changes, people graduate and fresh faces need to be brought in.

“The team is always looking for expansion so I encourage any wannabe writers to come be part of the new site.”
